After living in Sacramento for only a couple months, I was still looking for a job and had just spent the day perusing Craig’s list. One of the listings caught my eye: “Write for a Good News Newspaper”. So I applied and a few weeks later I went in for an interview and was offered the job. The paper started in January 2012, and I was one of five writers to be offered positions on the small yet enthusiastic staff.
ZOOM Newspaper reports on the good news that happens within the Roseville, Folsom and El Dorado Hills communities. The paper’s mission statement states that the it believes that good news has the power to bring out the best in all of us, so each monthly issue focuses on showcasing friends, neighbors and family enjoying services and enriching lives. So it focuses on all the good things happening in town and tells the stories of people who generously give so much to make these communities such great places to live.
